A Suprise

Two weeks ago I recieved a lovely suprise in the mail from a friend in Alberta. My cousin's wife sent me a beautiful book on shamanism, called
Heeding the Call by Jaki Daniels. It includes a CD as well with guided meditations, and drumming. In it, the author tells her personal spiritual journey, along with exercises one can do and instructions for the meditations. I love
this book, and it was so nice to get such a lovely unexpected gift in the mail. While I enjoy all the new ways of communicating with social network sites and technologies, there is still something wonderful about recieving a gift in the good old mail! Thanks Girl - you rock! :)

These past couple of weeks have been busy, but I continue to make progress on my projects.
I finished my painting, the Queen and am moving on to the next one in my Dance of Death series, the Prime Minister, (based on the original, the Cardinal, by Hans Holbein, below). I am picking up the pace and aiming to finish for this fall, so I can have a show for the project.

With my novel, I'm working on chapter three, and am rewriting dialogue. It's tricky sometimes making it smooth, and natural.
I'm still practicing my guitar to, and am enjoying the online lessons. While I do find books helpful, I like the YouTube lessons because I learn better with the visuals.

I'll keep you all posted on my progress.

Trudging On

Here's the progress this past week on my projects.

This week I have made some headway with my novel. I finished chapter two and am working on the third chapter. Thank you to the girls in the writing club! You're feedback and encouragement means so much to me.

I have been more consistent with my guitar practice. I find it's a use it or lose it skill, so I better keep it up. :)

I didn't work on my painting this past week though. :( I MUST get more canvass! No more procrastinating!

This week I plan to finish chapter three, get more canvass, and keep working on my timing when practicing guitar. It's also been beautifully foggy the past few days. I'd like to get out with my real camera (sorry iPhone camera, you're okay but not great) and get some shots before the weather changes.

Keep you all posted.
